Vitamins and Supplements

Taught at multiple senior community centers, call us for more information 216-391-7557!

Where have we taught this:

  • Diabetic Teaching class at St. Vincent Hospital
  • Fatima Family Center

Andi and her students/volunteers will go around to community centers to teach topics requested by community members. Depending on what is requested, they will create a teaching tool, and hand out aids depending on what is taught. For example, for this they brought packets of seasoning, and magnifying glasses to help people read the nutrition labels.

Why is it important to know about vitamins and supplements?

The human body runs on vitamins and minerals, and if you do not eat a balanced diet you can become nutrient deficient and malnourished.  This can lead to fatigue, shakiness, moodiness, or overall sick. It is important to make sure you get as many vitamins from food as possible, supplements should only be used if doctor prescribed or if you cannot get them naturally. Eating too many supplements can be just as damaging as not eating enough vitamins. Furthermore, it is important to do your research on what supplements you are eating, companies will lie to you, and their "miracles" are a waste of money.
